Quite like these covers by Finnish artist Klaus Haapaniemi, for Patrick Süskind's two classic novels from the 1980s, Perfume and The Pigeon. You can read more about these here.

Blue Roses: 3 Frames Video
Most of us, I'm sure, have stumbled across Three Frames.net, and if you have, you know how mesmorising it can be. The same goes for this music video, that takes the same concept and runs with it.

While we are here, I also wanted to say that I have been more than busy this last few months with work, so apologies to anyone who has emailed in that I may have neglected or missed etc. Anyway, as you were, and let's get back to it!

Affair In Tokyo
Sound design doesn't get featured much here on the O-L, but when friend and confident, Darren Rose, one half of Affair In Tokyo, showed me their reel, I thought it was a sound (!sorry) idea to post it up here.
We Were Monkeys: The Broken
Not a huge fan of this track, but impressed with the impact that We Were Monkeys achieved with this video for Coheed and Cambria.
"They built all of this from remote-controlled vehicles, kitchen utensils, electrical components, and 50 scale-model kits. From these parts, they managed to custom-create a total of 15 models over two days, followed by an airbrushing and weathering technique, giving the models the battle-scarred look you see in the final piece. They then shot stills and video of the models in their green screen studio, before assembling the post-apocalyptic world in Photoshop and After Effects."

Mr Doob: Harmony
If I were to be honest, there are not that many experimental self generating art projects that really appeal to me, but sometimes it is done so well that I can't help but be impressed. Such is the case with the ultra talented Mr Doob (a.k.a Ricardo Cabello) and his latest project, 'Harmony'. It's a lot of fun - the aesthetic is really quite wonderful also. Love it. Jaime Hayon
Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon has been awarded ‘Artist of the year 2010‘ by French design tradeshow ‘Maison et Objects‘. Not knowing who he was, I had seen his work before, but was never aware of how prolific he was. It's not all to my taste, however, when you see his projects you understand immediately why he has been awarded this prize.
